Ca. 2nd-3rd Century AD 
A solid gold ring set with a large agate intaglio depicting a banquet scene. To the right, a crowned woman lays comfortably on a kline, while extending a hand towards two standing figures engaged in a conversation. The circular hoop is rendered with an intricate openwork technique in the form of floral motifs.


Provenance: London private collection; formerly ex. Parthenon gallery, acquired in the 1990s.
